Fire at Dadri scrap warehouse, owner suspects foul play

A scrap warehouse in Dadri’s Chithera village was gutted to fire on Tuesday night. The owner, Haji Younus, a resident of Nai Aabadi village said that he received information about the fire around 2am, but by the time he could reach the spot the flames had engulfed the entire warehouse.

GREATER NOIDA: A scrap warehouse in Dadri’s Chithera village was gutted to fire on Tuesday night. The owner, Haji Younus, a resident of Nai Aabadi village said that he received information about the fire around 2am, but by the time he could reach the spot the flames had engulfed the entire warehouse.
“I immediately rushed to the spot, but the fire was so huge that it was impossible to find out from where it had started.

Even though I did not see anyone, I suspect it was not an accident,” Younus said.
Rajveer Singh, the station house officer at Dadri said, “A team reached the spot immediately with the fire officials. “It took hours to fully control the fire as it had engulfed the whole plot. Fortunately no one was injured. The owner is yet to calculate the monetary loss.”
The owner added that he suspects unknown miscreants’ behind the fire incident as similar cases have occurred previously in four other warehouses that are situated near his shop.
Singh however denied these claims. “The fire seemed to have originated from the office in the warehouse. It looks like there was a short-circuit and the fire safety officers are probing that in detail,” he said.
